The CVWM record confirms transfer from the 202nd Battalion CEF (attestation unit, absorbed into 9th Reserve Battalion May 1917) to the 10th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Alberta Regiment), which was his frontline fighting unit at the time of death.
The Menin Gate inscription is independently verifiable by visiting cwgc.org and searching "Ponceby" under Canadian casualties.
