Iacofano Signed-In Residence and Naturalization Search - 30 April 2026

Scope

Follow-up on HIR-20260423-014 for the John/Giovanni and Mary/Maria Iacofano/Iaciofano residence and naturalization lane.

This pass focused on work the agent could do without a signed-in FamilySearch, Ancestry, library-edition, archive, or staff account:

  • public 1930 census roll identification and image browse for the two previously identified Cleveland ED candidates for 2025 Random Rd.
  • public catalog and guide review for the remaining Cuyahoga and federal Cleveland naturalization/voter-index lanes.
  • public web rechecks for same-surname naturalization and collateral clues.

No 01_people/ records were updated, no new source/event records were created, and no 05_raw/ files were edited because no new document-ready target artifact was found.

Public 1930 Census Browse

The earlier ED-targeting note identified Cleveland Random Rd in ED suffixes 362 and 369, with Paul Av intersecting only suffix 362.

NARA's T626 roll list places Cleveland EDs 18-361 through 18-370 on 1930 census roll 1772. The public Internet Archive item https://archive.org/details/ohiocensus00reel1772 provides page images for the same roll.

Agent-accessible image work was kept in tmp/iacofano-1930-roll1772/ and was not treated as a repository source artifact because the browse produced only negative search evidence.

ED 18-362

  • Internet Archive page images leaf n486 through n529 were browsed by left-column contact sheets and spot checks.
  • Header OCR/visual inspection confirmed leaf n500 as Cleveland ED 18-362, sheet 8A, placing the browsed range inside the intended ED.
  • The left-column browse did not expose a John/Giovanni, Mary/Maria, Albert, Arthur, Joseph, William, or other likely Iacofano/Iaciofano/Yaciofano household.
  • The page images include several 2025 house-number entries on other streets or with other householders, but no document-ready 2025 Random Rd. Iacofano household was found in this public ED pass.

ED 18-369

  • Header sampling located ED 18-369 around Internet Archive leaf n785; header OCR still read 18-369 on sample leaves including n798, n804, n808, and n814.
  • Header sampling showed ED 18-370 beginning by leaf n824, so leaf n785 through n823 was treated as the practical ED 18-369 browse interval.
  • Left-column contact-sheet review of leaf n785 through n823 did not expose a 2025 Random Rd. Iacofano/Iaciofano/Yaciofano household. Much of this ED's address range appeared to be in the 11xxx/12xxx sequence, not the 2025 Random Rd. block.

Naturalization and Voter-Index Access

The public-access result remains the same: the most relevant naturalization and voter-index workflows are identifiable but not completable from the current agent environment.

  • Cuyahoga County Archives lists the Board of Elections Index to Naturalized Voters, Cleveland city directories, marriage records through 1941, and Court of Common Pleas naturalization records among its holdings. Its request guide asks requesters to provide the record type, surnames, relevant dates, and known volume/page or petition details when available.
  • FamilySearch catalog 552671, Index to naturalizations of Court of Common Pleas, 1818-1931, identifies the surname-range target for Iacofano variants: Index Harries - Klawon, film 1819031, DGS 5486382. That is the first signed-in/affiliate browse target for John/Giovanni/Mary/Maria Iacofano/Iaciofano/Jaciofano/Yaciofano variants.
  • Cuyahoga OHGenWeb's voter-records guide says the Board of Elections file of naturalized registered voters is held at Cuyahoga County Archives and can identify name, address, ward, naturalization date/place, native country, age when naturalized, and naturalization volume/page.
  • NARA Chicago's naturalization guide lists federal U.S. District Court, Cleveland coverage for indexes 1855-1991, declarations 1855-1943, and petitions 1855-1991. That remains the federal Cleveland counterpart to the county Common Pleas lane.
  • Current shell attempts to query NARA Catalog API routes for this search returned the Catalog single-page application HTML rather than usable JSON, so no new Catalog source candidate was identified through the API path in this pass.
  • Public Lake County Genealogical Society naturalization pages were rechecked. They continue to expose only same-surname Nunzio Iaciofano/Iacofano entries, which prior repo notes classify as collateral/unlinked until a direct bridge appears.

Result

The 1930 census task is improved but not fully closed:

  • The two public ED image-browse targets were located and browsed.
  • No document-ready 1930 census page for the known 2025 Random Rd. Iacofano household was found in those public images.
  • A signed-in indexed search is still useful because the household may be misindexed, off the expected address, omitted from the apparent page range, or recorded under a spelling not recognized during visual browse.

The naturalization and voter-index tasks remain human-access work:

  • signed-in FamilySearch/affiliate browse for DGS 5486382 and related Cuyahoga naturalization/voter films.
  • Cuyahoga County Archives staff request for Board of Elections naturalized voters and Common Pleas naturalization indexes/records.
  • NARA Chicago/federal Cleveland index request or signed-in partner search for federal naturalization records.

Later Artifact Intake

Later on 30 April 2026, the user supplied a signed-in FamilySearch PDF transcript for a Cuyahoga County naturalized-voter index card for Antonietta Iaciofano, FamilySearch image 2761 of 6312, image group 005486573. It was ingested as source-naturalized-voter-index-card-for-antonietta-iaciofano-1956.

The card corroborates the accepted Antonietta certificate-card facts: 1 October 1930 birth date, 11807 Woodland Avenue residence, U.S. District Court naturalization at Cleveland on 16 November 1956, certificate number 7716696, and petition number 126309. It does not name parents, spouse, witnesses, exact birthplace, arrival details, or a relationship to Francesco, Mike/Concetta, John/Giovanni, Mary/Maria, or the Arthur/Mary Iacofano line.

Next Human Search Packet

Use these exact lanes before another broad public web pass:

  1. FamilySearch catalog 552671, DGS 5486382, Index Harries - Klawon. Search/browse Iacofano, Iaciofano, Jaciofano, Yaciofano, and close handwriting variants for John, Giovanni, Maria, Mary, and possible Lorenzo/Laurenzo cross-references.
  2. Cuyahoga County Archives Board of Elections Index to Naturalized Voters: search the same surname variants, emphasizing residence 2025 Random Rd, Ward 19, and the 1920-1940 residence window.
  3. NARA Chicago/federal Cleveland naturalization index: search John/Giovanni and Mary/Maria Iacofano/Iaciofano/Yaciofano/Jaciofano, plus Lorenzo/Laurenzo variants if a married-name search is inconclusive.
  4. Signed-in Ancestry/FamilySearch 1930 census index search: search by household members and address anchors, not only by surname, because the public ED browse did not locate the expected household image.

1 May 2026 Giovanni Finding-Aid Follow-Up

The user asked to use the Cuyahoga OHGenWeb FamilySearch naturalization finding aid to locate additional records for Giovanni Iaciofano/Iacofano.

Confirmed indexed hits in signed-in FamilySearch:

  • Giovanni Iaciofano, record ARK 1:1:QP3R-XW9C, image ARK 3:1:3QSQ-G99C-Y9CY-2, certificate/petition number 20829, naturalization year 1903, birth 1880, birthplace Italy.
  • A second duplicate indexed Giovanni Iaciofano hit with the same visible summary fields.
  • Giovanni Jaciofano or Iaciofano, corresponding to the already-ingested cross-reference card stating that papers were recorded under Iaciofano and the court record reads Jaciofano.

Finding-aid and FamilySearch waypoint targets:

  • The accepted Giovanni index card points to Cuyahoga County Common Pleas, Cleveland, Petition No. 20829, naturalization date 4 April 1903.
  • FamilySearch waypoint JSON for Cuyahoga identifies the two overlapping browse lanes that contain the number range named in the finding aid:
    • Petitions for naturalization and petition evidence 1903 no 20648-20886, waypoint 4627-16Z:265566401,267284501, 849 images.
    • Petitions for naturalization and petition evidence 1903 no 20800-20886, waypoint 46LD-16V:265566401,267285701, 212 images.
  • Direct browse link for the smaller overlap: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G996-P9LC-D?wc=46LD-16V%3A265566401%2C267285701&cc=1987615&i=0

Negative/ambiguous test:

  • In the smaller 20800-20886 waypoint, image 1 appears to correspond to petition 20800.
  • Testing image 30, the naive expected offset for 20829, led to image ARK 3:1:3QS7-L996-P9RF-9 and an indexed/visible petition for Andy Molnar, not Giovanni. So the underlying Giovanni petition is not resolved by simple image offset in that waypoint.
  • No new document-ready source was downloaded or ingested in this follow-up.

Next practical step:

  • Use signed-in FamilySearch full-text search and/or manual browse within both waypoint targets above for Giovanni, Iaciofano, Jaciofano, Iacofano, 20829, and 57 Norman. If a candidate image is found, download the FamilySearch image/PDF with citation and ingest it as a separate proposed source.

1 May 2026 Signed-In Resume: Petition Located

The signed-in Safari session exposed the underlying DGS for the smaller Petitions for naturalization and petition evidence 1903 no 20800-20886 waypoint as image group 005492575.

Focused FamilySearch full-text searches inside 005492575 found:

  • Giovanni: no result in the DGS-scoped full-text search.
  • Iaciofano: no result.
  • Iacofano: no result.
  • Jaciofano: no result.
  • 20829: no result.
  • "57 Norman": one useful hit in the Cuyahoga petition image group.

The "57 Norman" hit led into the correct image neighborhood. The directly useful page is:

The petition image is document-ready and names Giovanni Jaciofano in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. It records him as a subject of Italy, born in Italy on 20 July 1880, first arrived in the United States on 23 July 1897, declared intention on 30 March 1903, worked as a laborer, and resided at 57 Norman, Cleveland. The image does not name an arrival port, ship, spouse, parents, children, witnesses, or exact Italian town.

This resolves the specific signed-in FamilySearch petition-image target for the accepted Giovanni index card. It does not by itself resolve whether Giovanni Jaciofano/Iaciofano/Iacofano is the same person as person-john-iacofano-1874; that merge question still needs user acceptance and additional relationship or residence-bridge evidence.

1 May 2026 Signed-In Resume: Oath/Endorsement Located

The adjacent image immediately before the petition is the oath/endorsement side of the same Giovanni petition packet:

The image shows No. 20829, the matter/application for Giovanni Jaciofano, an oath sworn on 30 March 1903 before notary Max Rosenblatt, and an endorsement stamped by clerk William R. Coates with Filed Apr 4 1903. A nearby handwritten word appears to be a granted notation, but the rest of the notation is partly obscured, so the source records this as corroborating evidence for the accepted index card's 4 April 1903 naturalization date rather than as a new standalone final-order transcription.

The image does not name spouse, parents, children, witnesses, arrival port, ship, exact Italian town, or Declaration Exhibit A.

Neighbor checks:

  • Image 97 of 2016, ARK 3:1:3QS7-8996-P9PX-H, is a petition for Domenico Divinanco, not Giovanni. It is notable only as another same-address 57 Norman St. petition in the immediate neighborhood.
  • Image 100 of 2016, ARK 3:1:3QSQ-G996-P92P-H, is an oath/endorsement for Peter P. Coyle, not Giovanni.
  • Image 101 of 2016, ARK 3:1:3QS7-L996-P9R9-F, is the Peter P. Coyle petition, not Giovanni.
  • Image 102 of 2016, ARK 3:1:3QS7-8996-P9PS-Y, is an oath/endorsement for Andy Belosh, not Giovanni.

No additional Giovanni page beyond images 98 and 99 was exposed in the checked immediate neighborhood. The unresolved identity question remains whether this Giovanni 1880 is the same person as person-john-iacofano-1874; the new oath/endorsement image strengthens the petition-number/date chain but does not provide a spouse, child, later address, ship, port, or exact birthplace bridge.

1 May 2026 NARA Mancini Father-Papers Finding

Follow-up searches prioritized the known later federal naturalization numbers and Olga M. Iacofano's derivative certificate number.

No document-ready public NARA Catalog packet was found for the two highest priority later Iaciofano files:

  • Exact searches for Antonietta Iaciofano, Petition No. 126309, and Certificate No. 7716696 did not expose a digitized full federal naturalization packet.
  • Exact searches for Francesco Iaciofano, Petition No. 136370, and Certificate No. 8194120 did not expose a digitized full federal naturalization packet. A NARA hit for Francesco Iaciofano is a Rhode Island fourth draft registration card, not the Cleveland naturalization target, and was not ingested.
  • Mary/Maria Iaciofano A-file searches reconfirmed the existing Mary Iaciofano catalog-only candidate 608620805 and a separate Maria Iaciofano catalog-only candidate 5338897; neither has public digital objects in the Catalog and neither was ingested in this pass.

The certificate-number lane for Olga M. Iacofano was successful. NARA Catalog searches for 2639152 surfaced two digitized Cleveland federal naturalization files:

  • source-nara-naturalization-file-for-domenico-mancini-1924-1927
    • NARA NAID 147307209, M1995 roll 93.
    • Petition No. 28465; Declaration No. 63339; Certificate of Arrival issue No. 365909; Certificate No. 2639152.
    • Records Domenico Mancini at 2015 Random Rd., Cleveland, born at/near S. Giovanni in Galdo/Giovanni Galdo, Italy, arriving at New York on 22 October 1920 aboard La Touraine, and naturalized on 16 September 1927.
    • Names wife Maria and five children: Rosina, Costantina, Incoronata, Olga, and Angelina. Olga is recorded as born 17 December 1919 in Italy.
  • source-nara-naturalization-file-for-mary-mancini-1942-1945
    • NARA NAID 147691658, M1995 roll 225.
    • Petition No. 91519; Certificate of Arrival No. 7-181312; Certificate No. 6620995.
    • Records Mary Mancini at 2015 Random Rd., born 16 April 1892 at S. Giovanni, Italy, entering New York on 9 October 1922 under the name Graziano, Maria M. Domenica aboard Belvedere, and naturalized on 26 January 1945.
    • Corroborates husband Domenico's 16 September 1927 Cleveland naturalization and certificate No. 2639152, and names Olga in the child list. Mary's child-date line for Olga appears to conflict with Domenico's petition and Olga's card, so the discrepancy is preserved in the new source transcription notes.

These two packets resolve the father-paper identity behind Olga's 1941 naturalization card, but they do not yet connect Olga's husband John Iacofano to the canonical Random Road Iacofano family. The next bridge record remains the 1937 John Iacofano and Olga Mancini/Iacofano marriage record, plus any city directory, census, or obituary evidence naming John's parents.

1 May 2026 Domenico Acceptance and Olga Cuyahoga Census Follow-Up

The user accepted source-nara-naturalization-file-for-domenico-mancini-1924-1927 and explicitly requested canonical people for Domenico Mancini, Mary Mancini, and Olga M. Iacofano from that accepted source.

Repository updates from the accepted Domenico packet:

Signed-in FamilySearch follow-up then searched for Cuyahoga records that could bridge Olga's husband John Iacofano to a known Iacofano line.

Negative or not-yet-document-ready checks:

  • FamilySearch record search for Olga Mancini / John Iacofano marriage in Cuyahoga around 1936-1938 did not expose the 1937 marriage record.
  • Broad Olga Iacofano search found GenealogyBank obituary index snippets and a Find a Grave index result naming/pointing to Olga M. Mancini Iacofano, but those were not ingested in this pass because the stronger image-backed census artifacts were available first.

New document-ready Cuyahoga census artifacts ingested:

Interpretation:

  • These census pages provide strong proposed residence/household evidence for the John/Olga Iacofano collateral family and strengthen the continuity from Olga's 1941 naturalization card to later Cuyahoga records.
  • They still do not identify John L. Iacofano's parents, so no spouse link was added to any canonical John/Giovanni Iacofano person and no child relationships were added to person-olga-m-iacofano-1919.
  • The practical next signed-in/archive target remains the 1937 John Iacofano and Olga Mancini/Iacofano marriage record, followed by obituary/cemetery artifacts only if they provide parentage or a stable relationship bridge.

1 May 2026 Cuyahoga Probate Giovanni Jaciofano Marriage Index Follow-Up

Safari was used against the official Cuyahoga County Probate Court Docket and Index Search.

Searches checked:

  • Giovanni Iaciofano: no result.
  • Surname-only Iacofano: all three result pages checked. The two JOHN L IACOFANO historical marriage cases opened from page 2 were 1900ML912786 to Nancy McGraw, volume 888, page 1544, and 1900ML94451 to Carol Sue Petrowski, volume 557, page 0092. These do not appear to be the older Giovanni/Maria bridge.
  • Surname-only Iaciofano: both result pages checked; no Giovanni result.
  • Surname-only Jaciofano: one direct result found.

New proposed source:

Interpretation:

  • This is the strongest local court bridge so far between Giovanni/Jaciofano and Maria/Mary Giovanna Laurenzo/Laurienzo.
  • No marriage event was created because the court explicitly says historical marriage docket dates use 1900 as a conversion placeholder.
  • Do not merge person-giovanni-iacofano-1880 with person-john-iacofano-1874 from the proposed online index alone. The next human-mediated step is ordering or otherwise obtaining the full Cuyahoga Probate case/certified marriage record for actual date, ages, residences, parents, prior-marriage status, and officiant.
