Online Resource Pass, 1920-1940

Run date: 23 April 2026.

Scope: public/free online media, photographs, city directories, newspaper indexes, newspaper portals, and family-history pages for the active Armstrong, Seem, Ponceby, and Iacofano questions from 1920 through 1940. This pass did not update any 01_people/ records.

Preflight: scripts/agent_preflight.py reported 0 errors, 3 warnings, 20 people, 93 sources, 34 events, 26 leads, 23 open human-input items, and 170 media entries before this pass. The media audit reported no missing blobs or logical paths.

Continuation note: a same-day follow-up pass resumed from a clean repo state with 0 errors, 3 warnings, 20 people, 106 sources, 27 leads, 24 open human-input items, and 191 media entries before the new CPL/WCDPL work below.

Only the already-established people Paul Edward Armstrong, Lola Louise Seem, and Shirley Jean Armstrong were linked; no new person records were created for Jimmy, Linda, Irma, or Rose.

The CPL directory sources are status: proposed, type: city_directory, and confidence: medium. They were created from one-page PDF artifacts downloaded from the official CPL page-level API and do not yet justify person or event promotion on their own.

These are directory-level hits from the public Cleveland Public Library Digital Gallery API. The 1921, 1929, 1930, 1931, 1932, 1936, 1938, and 1940 pages have now been page-localized and ingested as proposed one-page source records. The only remaining public follow-up from this lane is the 1921 part 2 Laurenzo page that reads 2025 Rondell rd rather than a clean Random rd.

Localized page results from this pass:

The public CPL lane is now effectively complete for this pass. The remaining un-ingested 1921 part 2 Laurenzo follow-up page is 77729, which reads Laurenzo M lab bds 2025 Rondell rd on the page image and does not cleanly resolve to Random rd. In the 1936 volume, a separate street-index page id 45149 also showed Iaciofano Maria Mrs at 2025 Random rd, but it was not ingested because the surname page already captured the stronger household context. A weaker 1932 gas/service-station page hit for Iacofano Albert L 8245 Broadway was also located on page id 12082, but it was not ingested because page 10979 captured the stronger Random-rd surname-page cluster.

Queue Impact

  • The Paul/Lola/Shirley Armstrong family page now has the two dated 1938 and 1940 photographs preserved as individual raw artifacts rather than only as an HTML page summary.
  • The Iacofano/Yaciofano line now has public-directory continuity at 2025 Random rd in 1921, 1929, 1930, 1931, 1932, 1936, 1938, and 1940. The 1921 part 1 page adds the stronger surname-page grocery listing for John, the 1929-1932 pages keep the grocery occupation clue in view, and the 1936 page appears to show Mary already widowed while Biagio remains at the address.
  • The Edmonton Journal Marjorie clue is still not source-backed. It should remain a lead/HIR item until the actual catalog PDF, newspaper notice image, or library response is captured.
  • The WCDPL browser-capable retry now confirms that the public search path works, but the requested 1920-1940 Armstrong/Seem query set did not surface a new page strong enough to ingest beyond the already-preserved Thomas/Orpha items.
  • With the 1921 part 1 and 1932 CPL pages now preserved, the best remaining Iacofano work is no longer open-public directory paging; it is signed-in census/naturalization work and the prepared obituary/cemetery scan requests.

  • Revisit the 1921 part 2 Laurenzo page only if later evidence makes the Rondell rd versus Random rd street reading decision-critical.
  • Revisit the 1936 street-index page only if a same-name assignment or exact household composition becomes decision-critical; the surname page is the stronger current artifact.
  • Recheck the 1938 and 1940 CPL page images only if an exact apartment number or a same-name assignment becomes decision-critical; the current proposed-source summaries are sufficient for continuity work.
  • Move next to the prepared CPL/WEPL scan-request lane and the signed-in census/naturalization search lane rather than spending more time on open WCDPL 1920-1940 exact-phrase searching.
  • For Marjorie Eleanor Ponceby, use the existing HIR path to obtain the actual Edmonton Journal notice or a stable catalog PDF. Do not treat the search-result snippet as a source.
